Resurrección: ¿Qué dicen los Eruditos?

En varios escritos como este y este, he defendido la resurrección de Jesús usando un método acuñado por el Dr. Gary Habermas llamado el método de los “hechos mínimos”.

Estos hechos son usados por Habermas por tres razones principales:

  1. Porque la gran mayoría de los estudiosos aceptan estos hechos como históricos.
  2. Porque están bien establecidos por el método histórico.
  3. La única explicación que puede dar cuenta de la existencia de todos estos hechos es la resurrección de Jesús.

En realidad Habermas usa unos 11 o 12 Hechos mínimos pero la resurrección se puede demostrar usando incluso unos 3 o 4, pero vamos a agregar los 6 que cubren el requisito de ser aceptados por estos historiadores. Estos hechos son:

  1. Jesús murió por crucifixión
  2. Los discípulos tuvieron experiencias que ellos interpretaron como apariciones de Jesús resucitado.
  3. Los discípulos sufrieron una transformación de escépticos cobardes a valientes anunciadores de su muerte y resurrección (y estuvieron dispuestos a sufrir y morir por esa creencia)
  4. La proclamación sucedió muy tempranamente en la iglesia primitiva
  5. Santiago, quien había sido un escéptico (hermano de Jesús), se convirtió en líder de la iglesia en Jerusalén (luego de ver a Jesús resucitado).
  6. Pablo también se convierte al cristianismo luego de una experiencia que él describe como una aparición de Jesús resucitado

Habermas sabe esto porque ha rastreado unos 3400 eruditos neotestamentarios que incluye a ateos y agnósticos en Francés, Inglés y Alemán. Frecuentemente cuando converso con escépticos, se me piden las fuentes. Este escrito cumple la función de proporcionar una buena base de fuentes documentadas. Por otra parte, no conozco a un solo erudito con doctorado acreditado y que enseñe en una universidad acreditada que crea que Jesús no existió (Richard Carrier y Robert Price son dos de ellos pero ninguno enseña en universidad acreditada y pocos estudiosos los toman en serio).

Otra lista relacionada es una muestra de eruditos que incluye, de nuevo, a ateos, agnósticos, judíos y escépticos (entre otros), que creen que los discípulos tuvieron experiencias que los llevaron a concluir que tuvieron apariciones del Jesús Resucitado, sea o no cierto que esto haya ocurrido. El punto es que el afirmar “Los discípulos CREYERON haber visto lo que ellos interpretaron como Jesús resucitado” es considerado como histórico. Es decir que esa creencia de parte de los discípulos era una creencia sincera.
